Discovery new painting Jheronimus Bosch

01-02-2016

Today's top news story: the discovery of a new painting by Jheronimus Bosch!

The Bosch Research and Conservation Project (BRCP) has announced that 'The temptation of Saint Anthony', property of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, is one of the old master's original works.

In all, 24 paintings have now been attributed to Jheronimus Bosch (1450-1516).

Employing an international team of experts, the Dutch research project BRCP has over the last six years studied almost all of Bosch' works. From February 13th to May 8th 2016, the Noordbrabants Museum in 's-Hertogenbosch is hosting a special exhibition featuring a number of Jheronimus Bosch' best works. Visitor's will be able to gain insight into the BRCP's results with the use of reconstructions and visualisations.

Within a few days, Fontaine Uitgevers will be publishing the wonderful book 'Jheronimus, de wegen naar hemel en hel', on which I have worked hard over the last year together with art historian Gary Schwartz.
